Our forensic tracing services for the purpose of asset reunification and/or re-engagement with Gone Away customers are specifically targeted to the Financial Services Industry.

Vestigium provides a Live Archiving Repository which periodically re-researches currently un-found gone aways against continuously updating data sources including the Vestigium Services consumer database. Vestigium believes this on-going methodology helps institutions meet regulations including the FCA’s Principle 6, Treating Customers Fairly, and assists firms to meet the guidance on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers.

Tracing
Vestigium works to 99% accuracy for its finds, saving its clients the time and effort of writing to erroneous addresses whilst conducting KYC/AML checks.
Digital matching produces poor results in terms of numbers found and accuracy of result, as there is no forensic checking. Historically, Vestigium will locate circa 50% of a file of legacy ‘gone aways’ (which has already been through batch tracing) to a 99% degree of accuracy at first pass of research.

Repository
Vestigium provides its clients with a Repository, where ‘gone aways’ (who are findable, but yet to be located to a 99% degree of accuracy) are live-archived and re-researched as data sources continually improve and become more comprehensive.

Executor / Next Of Kin Tracing
Vestigium assists its clients by tracing the Executors, or next of kin, of deceased customers to a current address.
Where customers of institutions have left probate, Vestigium will purchase the Will from the government, and trace the named Executor to their current address using the methods outlined above. Vestigium provides its clients with both the current contact information for the Executor, and a copy of the Will/Probate documentation. For those customers who haven’t left Probate, Vestigium employs genealogical methods combined with our above explained tracing methods, to locate the nearest available next-of-kin at a current address. Vestigium provides this information and details of the relationship of the next-of-kin to the deceased customer (e.g. sister/niece/spouse etc.).

Living as Stated Check
Once the Legacy Gone Away and Deceased issue has been resolved Vestigium provides a Living as Stated check on a client’s full customer listing.
Within 1 week of receipt of your customer data file, Vestigium will provide you with a Report setting out; (a) Customer data where the underlying address/DOB looks like it needs further Investigation (b) Customers where it appears that the customer may have deceased, and (c) Assurance on the remaining majority of your data that there is nothing that seems to suggest any issues on quality of data (negative assurance). This is ideal for Compliance Officers, CEO’s, and Non-Executive Directors looking for assurance.
